DIRECTOR STATEMENT
“Block” is my take on a stop-motion surrealist fairytale inspired by some of my favorite animators, including Jiří Trnka and Satoshi Kon. While I aimed to keep the themes open to interpretation, at its core, the film is a story about friendship and childlike wonder—something that’s caged but never fully trapped.
