SYNOPSIS

In an eerie homage to 1980s horror, two teenagers, Molly and Shawn, break into an abandoned theater for a night of exploration. As they venture through the dark, desolate halls, Molly stumbles upon some expired snacks at the concession stand and unwittingly sets off a chilling chain of events. With each passing moment, the theater reveals its sinister secrets, and Molly's behavior becomes increasingly disturbing. The film climaxes with a shocking encounter and confusing twist, leaving the audience questioning the true nature of the seemingly innocent treats and the darkness lurking within the theater. "Concessions" is a suspenseful short film that blends nostalgic charm with spine-tingling horror.

DIRECTOR STATEMENT
I always felt like I was born in the wrong decade, I feel like I belonged in the 1980s. Creating a horror film set in that era just felt natural. I drew inspiration from IT: Chapter 1 and Stranger Things, both of which capture the spirit of that time so perfectly. The heart of this project lies in my hometown and the old Ritz Theater, which has seen better days but still holds a charm. Its crumbling concession stand and the nostalgic 'Let's All Go to the Lobby' short sparked the idea for this film. I wanted to make something that would help the theater’s legacy live on. Casting local talent was important to me because I love the idea of nurturing a film culture within my own community. The production team, made up of incredibly dedicated and talented individuals, brought their best to the project, and I’m proud of what we accomplished together. With Concessions, I hope to leave the audience with a haunting taste of nostalgia—something that lingers long after the final scene.

DIRECTOR BIO
Storytelling has always been a passion of mine, whether through the written word or behind the camera. While working in medicine, I found myself in need of a creative outlet and decided to commit to one of passions, videography. What began as a hobby quickly turned into something much more, leading me to work with brands, businesses, and events across the globe. Along the way, I've had the privilege of meeting incredible people and making lifelong friends. However, my deepest fulfillment comes from creating short films, where I can bring stories to life in their most captivating and compelling forms.
