SYNOPSIS
A young man drives along a country road in his new sports car, until
he is waved down by a stranded mysterious woman, with a love of
speed and a lust for death.
DIRECTOR BIO
Rob has been making short films and writing scripts since his teenage years. After studying film and
animation at the Queensland College of Art, he set up a production company, producing live-action and
animated TVCs and music videos. Recently, Rob has been writing and developing feature film screenplays
in the horror and thriller genres. He has also written & directed two short horror films. DEATH DRIVE is
his latest short film.
DIRECTOR STATEMENT
Death Drive has been created to appeal to a teenage and young adult audience. It’s an entertaining, action packed, ride into horror, but hopefully will give the audience something to think about as well. The title “Death Drive” comes from the term Sigmund Freud used to describe the drive towards self-destruction and death. Many young people feel that they are bullet proof and will live forever, but statistics prove hundreds of them will die every year in car crashes. If this short film can make young people think before they speed, it will achieve its goal.
