SYNOPSIS

When Kyle dares to play a forbidden ritual game and breaks the rules, he unleashes a chilling force that blurs the line between superstition and nightmare. Hitori delivers an unsettling reminder: some traditions are kept for a reason.
——————
A seemingly innocent game turns deadly when a forbidden Japanese ritual is played the wrong way. Hitori delves into the terrifying consequences of breaking tradition, where curiosity and shortcuts awaken a presence that cannot be controlled. A suspenseful, psychological horror that proves some games are never meant to be played.

DIRECTOR
With 20 years of experience in the film industry, Jonas Huerta is a filmmaker whose passion lies in directing. A member of IATSE Local 600, Jonas currently works as a film loader while pursuing his own creative projects. After briefly attending film school, he was offered a position on Transformers 2, which set him on a career path that has spanned camera, post-production, and visual effects. His VFX background includes contributions to major films such as Bird Box, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Avengers: Endgame. A lifelong fan of horror, Jonas has long been fascinated by stories that explore tradition, superstition, and the consequences of choice. His short film Hitori grew out of a years-long desire to bring the eerie Japanese ritual game Hitori Kakurenbo to the screen. In crafting the story, Jonas wanted the horror to stem not only from supernatural forces, but also from the flawed decision-making of the main character—making him as frightening as the entity he unleashes.
