SYNOPSIS
A successful, but isolated young woman, stalked by grief, is haunted inside her own body—until a final, brutal revelation shatters everything she thought she knew about herself.
DIRECTORS STATEMENT
When Valerie Parker brought me the script for SHED in December of last year, I immediately felt its power. There was something sacred and unflinching about the way it explored the relationship between trauma and the body, how pain can live in us, wordless and heavy, until we are ready to face it.
SHED is a poetic meditation: a sensory experience more than a linear narrative. It invites the viewer to feel rather than simply follow.
This short serves as a proof of concept for a feature-length expansion, which is currently in preproduction. The themes remain the same: grief, embodiment, transformation. In this shorter format, we focused on crafting a tone and visual language that feels intimate and immersive.
