PRESENTS

The monsters are a total afterthought. They look great, I love the design, the CGI is awesome to watch, the sound design is great, but they just having nothing to do with what is going on in the story. They're hardly even a backdrop. This movie feels like it wants to be jar head or something. They pulled out all the ;modern war in a desert some where' tropes, but without doing any of the research so it just comes off as extremely lazy and racist. Like why are the 'natives' running around with RPG's trying to shoot down the american soldiers? Never explained, just assumed that anyone with a burka must be a taliban member and want everything dead. Lots of manly screaming and crying, lots of really brutal scenerios that are totally unearned. Just a horrible waste of some really nice looking monsters.
