The whole thing plays like a 13 year old fan boy's novela. It's very self endulgent, very slow, the dialogue is tropey and unpolished. It's also very obviously trying to be a cult classic and that ultra 'try-hard-iness' really reads through. In short, it drags. The practical effects and the make up are spectacular though. The vampires, while not extremely unique (they look alot like the excorsit MakeUp, but with vampire teeth) are really proffesionally done. They look great, they move great. To me the good effects make up for the hackneyed story making this film kind of break even.
