DIRECTOR STATEMENT
Starver blends artistic horror with the real-life horrors we face. It's a story about hunger and the consequences it has on those who endure it for too long. As I watch my country grapple with its greatest economic crisis, which has affected me deeply, I felt compelled to tell a story that’s first and foremost scary, entertaining, and fun, but also carries a message that is true to my heart.

DIRCTEOR BIO
Parsa Zahedi (born 1997) is an Iranian filmmaker and one of the few creators working in the horror genre in Iran. His distinctive Expressionist style has become the signature of his work over the years. With a diploma in visual arts and a bachelor's degree in filmmaking, he co-created the filmmaking group The Unfamiliars with Sobhan Babaei, which has produced more than ten independent short films over the past decade. Starver is the group's first professionally made short film.
