DIRECTOR STATEMENT
An approximation of Edgar Allan Poe. Whenever I read Poe it gives me chills as well as branding images forever in my mind which cannot be erased. When I read "Berenice" I thought it was captivating and shocking while at the same time I realized how horrific the short story actually was. It was interesting for me in the analysis of this tale (released in 1835) to reflect on the times and circumstances in which Poe wrote this story, given the moral values that prevailed in America at the time. The end result turned out to be a scandal and Poe later censored parts of his own story himself in a re-release edition.

As a filmmaker, I was interested in what Poe couldn't write, or rather what he didn't wrote directly. As well as what was to be read between the lines, conjuring indelible pictures within the reader's mind while reading the story. 'Thirty2' is not a word for word adaptation of the short story Berenice, but rather a interpretation and vision to delve deep into the dark atmosphere of and E. A. Poe story.

DIRECTOR BIO
Tim Luna is is a German writer, musician, and filmmaker living in Mexico City. Worked in the music industry for many years as a producer and director for music videos. Produced short films and two independent feature films that have been released internationally. "Tears of Kali" (2004), for which he won a Silver Méliès (Méliès d'argent) for Best European Fantastic Film as producer, and the feature film "Masks" (2011), which was an homage to the Italian Giallo genre. Loves spaghetti's, music and cinema.
