DIRECTOR STATEMENT
Bruno Marín's personal inspiration for this simple short film, "I See You" which was made with no other intention than to practice with the camera, came from psychological horror films such as It Follows, The Thing, Hereditary, and The Babadook, while acknowledging the differences in scale. He aimed to create something straightforward that could be filmed in a few hours and required minimal resources. Visually, the film was shot with anamorphic lenses to give it a cinematic touch, and the lighting was kept very simple with minimal equipment, given the $300 budget for the project. For sound, everything was recorded in foley as there was no direct sound, but the team managed to create (or at least they hope) the sense of terror they were aiming for in the studio. The music was used to build a sense of horror and tension to support the very simple plot.
