SYNOPSIS

On a clear, fall day about 7 years ago, a grisly murder spree took place near a rural Ohio farm house. Though the gruesome killings occurred over a very short period of time, the case remains unsolved to this day. Fast forward to the present, where we meet the crew of an up-and-coming house-flipping television show. Jaime, the production manager, is not amused in the least to be at the mercy of the studio's extremely low budget. Girlfriends Beth and Mildred – the real stars of the show – try to remain hopeful about what can be done despite the house's abysmally poor condition. The crew's Canadian real estate agent, Wayne, informs the girls of the past murders, adding further stress to the already strained production. Wayne later recalls that the murders were committed over a span of approximately 4 minutes – exactly that of a total solar eclipse in the area on the aforementioned day. As things continue to go from bad to worse at the possibly unsalvageable farm house, another total eclipse is coincidentally due to take place, eerily similar to the one during the original murder scene. As totality of the upcoming eclipse draws near, the cat is let out of the bag when Wayne suddenly transforms into the true perpetrator of the murders, the Weresphynx – half human, half Canadian Sphynx cat. As a new rampage ensues, the three female crew members are plagued by the terrors of the Weresphynx. Will they all be torn to shreds, piece by piece, or will the wits and wills of these strong women conquer the Weresphynx once and for all?

DIRECTOR STATEMENT
In this project, I wanted to spice up the genre of Backwoods Horror by incorporating shot-on-location footage of the 2024 total solar eclipse. The resulting script became a zany contrast to the traditional werewolf concept. Our awesome cast and crew helped bring together a short horror film that is effective in both its scares and laughs.
