DIRECTOR STATEMENT
Featuring an all teen cast, Date from Hell is an indie proof-of-concept horror comedy inspired by the 1990s Goosebumps show but made for an older audience. Trying to capture that cheap but honest magic that the original show had.
My name is Jacob Hamilton-Diabo. I am an emerging Director, Writer and Producer. I have an affinity towards horror and dark fantasy as genres, I find their artistic merit to be under-appreciated. To me they are capable of being the most expressive, they are genres that encourage creating external visual worlds that represent the internal world of the characters. I have a background in theater so I believe in high levels of communication with my actors, attempting to build as strong a relationship with them as possible so I am able to direct them to the best of my ability.
