DIRECTOR STATEMENT
My name is Segundo Pruden. I am 23 years old, from Argentina. I'm finishing my film studies at the University of Buenos Aires. I've done many projects as a director, screenwriter and editor. I'm passionate about the horror genre.

When thinking about a film, or in this case, a short film, the question always comes up: What motivated me to want to make it? Or, Why should I direct it? My personal experience going to the movies and sharing the moment of watching a film with a community continually calls me to want to be part of that feeling a film can generate in the viewer. I don't think anyone wants their film to be stored in a drawer.
In the case of "The Stranger", it all started more than two years ago and evolved with each new version of the script. It's a story that, despite the changes, always tried to reflect my affinity with the horror genre, a genre I continually return to every time I write an idea. That feeling of terror and adrenaline that these films generate is something I don't want to compromise on in a story.
Directing again after two years is a huge personal challenge that I don't want to waste, and I see it as an opportunity to explore new techniques and merge the found footage style with a more "conventional" way of filming horror movies.
