DIRECTOR STATEMENT
I wanted to create a story about the rule-setters being destroyed by their rules. I choose to use cake, which usually makes people feel sweet and comfortable, as the main object of my horror short film. Satirizing some influential people in the society ignore the rules, but eventually, the power would punish them. While trying to write a horror script, I wanted to eat ice cream cake, but I couldn't. So that I had an early idea for "ice cream cake Murder".
And I want it to be a 1:1 ratio film. I'm a vintage film lover, the whole style I wanted to present refers to old motion picture horror. As a marketing background student, I was inspired by 'Attention Economy', a term I learned from marketing classes, to discuss people's attention during this film. We want our audience to focus on the screen and follow the intense beats and visuals we present. The 1:1 ratio compresses the horizontal length of vision, giving a more depressing atmosphere, thus bringing about psychological tensions.
