SYNOPSIS
A bedtime story. Usually it's something kind and calm, conducive to sleep. But it doesn't have to be. This story, short but very intense and dynamic, full of transformations, conflicts and unexpected transformations. There are always eyes, one, two, many eyes in the frame. They live on their own, or belong to different beings, moving from one character to another. Sometimes they look from the screen at the viewer, making him a participant in the story as well. But at the end everything calms down, the whispering of flashing stars is replaced by a beautiful Chopin nocturne. Good night.
DIRECTOR STATEMENT
Hello, my name is Nadia Samarina and I live in Mexico. "Bedtime story" is my first cartoon. I chose the technique of plasticine animation, which allows you to make magical transformations and phantasmagoria.
The film is the final work of the "Plasticine Animation" course at @merinovschool
DIRECTOR BIO
- Born: Vladimir city (Russia)
- Education: Nizhny Novgorod State University of Architecture and civil engineering (NNGASU) with a degree in Architecture (1999).
- 1996 - 2006 - Graphic designer in various advertising agencies in Nizhny Novgorod.
- 2006 - 2013. - Director of the design studio Live Brand Studio (Nizhny Novgorod)
- 2013 - 2016 - Art director at the same studio.
- Since 2011 lives in San Luis Potosi (Mexico).
- Since 2013 - Teacher at the Art Center of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi (CAArte UASLP).
- Currently: Illustrator, urban sketcher, founder and administrator of the Urban Sketchers San Luis Potosi group, participant of various art projects in Mexico and Russia.
