DIRECTOR STATEMENT
In recent years, we’ve seen a sharp increase in public outrage, widespread violence, vocalized racism, legislative attacks on the LGBTQ+ community, mass shootings, national mistrust, and so much more. The human facades of the hateful perpetrators among us are starting to crack. It seems they can longer keep their monsters at bay.

Despite its bleak theme, this film combines two of my passions: allegorical horror and practical effects. I have been making monster masks and creature costumes for years, and this short premieres my largest practical effect to date.“They’re Everywhere” combines the practical horror aesthetics of the slasher films and creature features of the Eighties and Nineties, with a contemporary theme about the anxiety of living in a violent world.

DIRECTOR BIO
Hudson Williams grew up in a small town in upstate NY, where he spent his childhood making gonzo horror and action films with his cousins. He followed this passion to Ithaca College, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Film, Photography, and Visual Arts with a minor in Animation. In his Senior year, Hudson wrote and directed his thesis film, “They’re Everywhere!”. His thesis went on to win the Ithaca College James B. Pendleton Filmmaking Award. He has spent the last year in post-production, preparing “They’re Everywhere!” for its festival run. While at school, Hudson received the Faculty Award for Excellence in Film, Photography, and Visual Arts for the class of 2021. Hudson also received the award for Best Animated Film at the 2021 Ithaca Film Festival for his stop motion short “Don’t F@#k With Penguins”. He now works as a freelance motion graphics animator. In his free time, he continues to write and direct sci-fi, horror, animated, and live-action films.
