In overall quality and feel Snyder's Army Of The Dead falls somewhere in the camp of the Late 2000's Fast and Furious franchise. The dialogue and characters are equally as shallow as the cookie-cutter story line, despite a surprisingly heartfelt performance from leading man, Dave Batista, and a couple well landed quips from stand up, Tig Nataro. While Snyder ekes out a few successful stylized action sequences, like the opening credits - 15 minutes of deliciously saturated fake blood splashing about the sparkling neons of a Las Vegas casino, set to the crooning of a cheap Sinatra knock off - the majority of the film seems unable to agree on a unified tone, jumping from quirky action to dire drama to creeping thriller, resulting in an unpolished product.
