MONSTER DESIGN - 95% silhouette of people in suits
MONSTER INTERACTION - Lots o' fog
MONSTER ORIGINALITY - FOG ZOMBIE GHOSTS
MONSTER FEAR FACTOR - some jumps but the monsters themselves struck me with no fear
PRACTICAL EFFECTS - some stabbing early on! More fog than I thought possible.
CGI/ANIMATION - Loses points because it has none but it's also 40 years old.
FX MAKEUP - One enjoyable gory worm face detail.
STORY - While I enjoyed the location and ocean town feel, the story itself didn't quite time out in believability and wasn't hugely unique.
CHARACTERS - I liked the lighthouse Stevie!
DIALOGUE - Middle of the road for a 1980's film
Being a film born out of the 1980's, this film has merit. Lots of creepy lighting with fog and slow rolling ocean wind. The filming location was delightful and a wonderful canvas to paint a story. It's a shame the story wasn't very compelling. My score for this film reflects not only my interest in the story telling but also may be heavily influenced by the dated nature of this film. I wish I could say more but ultimately, I found it a bit methodical and tedious.
