SYNOPSIS
On a rainy night at the office, a young woman finds a random umbrella in the storage closet and unleashes something deadly. You really shouldn't open an umbrella indoors.
DIRECTOR BIO
Mark J. Parker is a filmmaker, producer, casting director, acting & media coach, digital content creator, podcaster, screenwriter, and actor/host. After living in New York for 14 years, he moved to Kittery, Maine in 2020. His new short horror comedies Casting Kill, inspired by his experience in casting and in acting, and Deathbrella, originally a Damnationland interstitial short, are now on the festival circuit. His previous award-winning shorts Your Last Summer, 25 Years After Woodsboro, Twin, Family History, and Sticks can be viewed online and on various digital platforms. Mark produces and hosts the retro entertainment podcast Release Date Rewind and guests on more shows here and there. He has cast 8 seasons of the ABC hidden camera series What Would You Do?, which will return to ABC in the coming months, plus has cast other TV, digital content, and independent films - including a few in Maine! When in New York, he worked on TV series and films throughout the years, from broadcast series 30 Rock and Ugly Betty to cable series Celebrity Ghost Stories and talk shows Live! With Regis & Kelly and Wendy Williams. Mark graduated from Fordham University and received a certificate in Producing from NYU’s School of Professional Studies. Some of Mark's acting clients have gone on to sign with a talent agent or manager, audition for film and TV, and book roles on Apple TV+, Nickelodeon, NBC, and much more.
